Winning the Emerging Talent - Ready-to-Wear award at the British Fashion Awards 2011, Mary Katrantzou is set to be a firm favourite amongst the fashion pack for 2012. Having completed both a BA & MA at Central Saint Martins, her signature pieces win the hearts of fashion addicts through hyperrealist aesthetic, bold graphics and chunky industrial jewellery. Industrial being a key word for the designs after describing the influences of her SS12 collection as “Industrial fabrication versus formal beauty in nature.”
NOT only am I totally in love with her collection but I
LOVE the bold brights that depict and exaggerate the enchanting visual of her collection- plus i'm a sucker for POP colour lipstick so I am one very satisfied bunny right now!
DON'T PANIC if your thinking your funds are running far to low for any spontaneous high end shopping spree's...as once again our high street favourites save the day for those all important bargains! I KNOW this will not be everyones 'cup of tea' so to speak, and may take the experimental and daring candidate to try out many of these pieces, but with the catwalk greats such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Versace, Chanel, Alexander McQueen...all showcasing these bold aquatic prints, the high street WILL encapsulate every essence of their designs....so maybe its time to EXPRESS that inner boldness and run away with our imagination!
