REFRESHERS...instantly befitting to my all time favourite childhood treat, bouncing off the walls once devouring into these fantastically fizzy foods, I can think of no other reason than the perfect palette of pastels that first attracted me to these little gems! SO, it was much to my delight when this scrumptious mix of delectable candy pastels hit the SS12 runway, and shaped the visuals of a pale wonderland in our trusty high street hang outs. This trend depicts all things
sweet like candy with catwalk greats such as Louis Vuitton, Erdem, Christopher Kane, 3.1.Phillip Lim...all hypnotizing the fashion savvy to indulge in every fashion fairytale fantasy.
Marc Jacobs equisite showmanship didn't go unnoticed at Paris Fashion Week when showcasing the Louis Vuitton SS12 collection, unveiling a glittered fairytale carousel, with picture perfect models gliding elegantly across a beautifully white & effortlessly magical runway. Influenced by soft fifties femininity, the pieces had been worked on with couture ambition, delicately intricate and beautiful applique. With the icing on this beautifully showcased spectacle of pastels being Kate Moss closing the show & the crisp whites injected by these beautifully sweet candy colours, will we now be longing for the LWD (little white dress) to replace our ever trusty LBDs? I THINK SOO!
BUT one designers story that pulled my fashion strings on a personal level was Jonathan Saunders. His work is described as knowing the potential of colour but playing it out each season as if he has only just discovered it, with a mix of modern but demure pieces, using soft paisleys with washed out pastels, it all screams
genius. Whether its silky 'PJ' tops & bottoms, or beautifully tailored dresses, one thing is for sure, Jonathan Saunders injects
COOL into everything and anything. I for one am awestruck by this collection, much to my piggy banks dismay.
I simpy LOVE everything about his collection, with my eyes already fixated on two pieces I will be purchasing in my enthralled dreams...one can wish (full time employment do hurry up!). Never one to miss a trick, I was equally excitable about the bold Amy Winehouse-esque eyes that featured in this SS12 show with a marvelously messy ponytail to complete this effortlessly cool look. NOW for the good bit- I present you with all the tip top tips you need to recreate this look to utter perfection.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK:

Select Moisturecover- applied only where needed to even skintone

Dark mineralize Skin Finish Natural Foundation- Dust under cheekbones for warm contour.
EYES:
Clear Brow Set- used to brush upwards and accentuate fullness.
Blacktrack Fuildline- used to apply a thick winged line above the upper lashes to elongate and define eyes.

SO there you have it, one of the key trends to be spotted in this SS12, you will look scrumptious enough to eat & mouthwatering-ly irresistable when encapsulating this pastel palette fantasy. For me my main focus will be the LWD accessoring with those delicious pastels, with applique looks being a firm favourite for the evening. I am yet to be convinced that the High Street can pull off this candy-inspired trend in the same way the kings & queens of the runway do! However, with the seasonal sales still in full swing, one must wait in anticipation to see if the high street players will indeed prove me wrong when launching their SS12 lines, in which case everyone will be as sweet as candy!
